After a couple of years living in Santa Monica, we've fallen hard for the food scene here and put together a few of our favorite spots on the Westside. Each one has its own vibe, so whatever you're craving, we've got a recommendation for you!

The Galley
2442 Main St, Santa Monica, CA 90405
The oldest restaurant in Santa Monica at 92 years old, The Galley has served Jonas and Ashleigh (along with countless visiting friends and family) hearty meals and strong drinks under string lights and pirate-ship charm. It's a true local institution, and one of the businesses we loved supporting most during our years living in Santa Monica. Don't miss the House Salad, a classic Manhattan, and whatever's on the specials menu that night. You really can't go wrong.
Bacari - PDR
6805 S Vista Del Mar Ln, Playa Del Rey, CA 90293
One of our all-time favorites, this breezy bar serves up small plates, great wine, and craft cocktails on a lovely outdoor patio. If you go, you have to order the Pork Belly, Noah's Cauliflower, and The Best Damn Cake with bacon and a scoop of vanilla ice cream (trust us, it lives up to the name) We love this place so much we've brought every single one of our guests here, so please give it a try if you can!

Dudley Market
9 Dudley Ave, Venice, CA 90291
Tucked right behind Venice Beach, this classic Westside staple serves up delicious seafood alongside a crisp, well-curated wine list. The vibe is relaxed but the food is anything but basic, it's the kind of place that feels like a neighborhood secret. You must order the burger for the table (or just keep it all to yourself, we won't judge).
Elefante
1332 2nd St Rooftop, Santa Monica, CA 90401
Tasty Italian fare meets an ocean breeze and sweeping views from the Sunset Room. It's a great spot any time of day, whether you're going for a lively night out with a group or want to soak in that classic buzzy LA energy. Reservations book up fast, so we recommend grabbing yours early.

Heavy Handed
2912 Main St, Santa Monica, CA 90405
Burgers, fries, ice cream, beer.... need we say more? Here's our golden rule: if you're thinking about ordering the single, get the double. If you're thinking about the double, get the triple. You'll thank us later.
Chulita
533 Rose Ave, Venice, CA 90291
A delicious neighborhood Mexican spot with some of the best salsa and tacos on the Westside. It's casual, unpretentious, and exactly the kind of place you want to become your regular order-the-usual spot. Come hungry and order a few tacos to share so you can try more of the menu.
